Galipata audio has been released through Aswini Audio. There are 6 songs in this album with variety.
Film: Gaalipata (Manada Mugilalli Mohabbat)
Director: Yogaraj Bhat
Music: V. Harikrishna
Lyrics: Hrudaya Shiva, Jayanth Kaikini, Yogaraj Bhat
1. Aakash Ishte Yakideyo
Singers: Tippu, Kunal Ganjawala
Lyrics: Jayanth Kaikini
This song is about the the spirit of these youths which has not limit. Jayanth Kaikini has gone a step further from "sky is the limit", to "why the sky is only this high?" Chaithra's voice has not been mentioned in the covers but was worth mentioning. She provides a energetic humming "na nai na na nai" in the background. Kunal has done good singing. Tippu's voice adds variety to the song. Harikrishna's precision rhythms and metal guitars is the soul of the song.
2. Minchaagi Neenu Baralu
Singer: Sonu Nigam
Lyrics: Jayanth Kaikini
In the first listening itself we can make out that this song has the shades of "anisutide yaako indu." We can feel that Mano Murthy's type of orchestration is used here. But as the song moves forward, Hari Krishna provides his own touch for the song with that different flute and some harmonies in background. Hari has given two different tunes for both charanas. Jayanth Kaikini's usage of the words "chandaadaara" , "varadigaara", "saalagaara" and "paaludaara" in this song is amazing. Sonu Nigam has done a soulful singing. These lines can be remembered:
"Kshamisu nee kinnaru
nuDisale ninnanu
hELi kELi modale chooru paapi naanu!"
This song is sure to become the best hit of this album.
3. Nadhim Dheem Tanana
Singer: Chithra
Lyrics: Yogaraj Bhat
Yogaraj Bhat has written about the first love experience. The speciality of the lyrics is that he has compared love feelings with dance related items like: hejje, taala. Harikrishna has used variety of rhythm instruments like chende, mrudanga, tabala. He has also used carnatic instrument Morching. Chithra has sung very well. That too during the lines: "soluve prathi kshana", she has given very good expressions.
4. Kavithe
Singer: Vijayprakash
Lyrics: Hrudaya Shiva
The first thing anyone will observe about this song is the different voice of newcomer Vijayprakash. This song is a very different experiment where the voice is the highlight and silence has been used then and there. Hrudaya Shiva has done good song using poem as the prime idea in the song. The bhaava of this song cant be predicted by listening to song alone. The song has mixed feelings all along it. Hari Krishna's orchestration is very different.
5. Jeeva Kaleva
Singer: Sonu Nigam
Lyrics: Yogaraj Bhat
This song is the sad version of the tune "minchaagi neenu baralu." Yogaraj Bhat has used words of hindi origin which were not used till now in kannada songs. For example: jhompdi, chaadaru. He has "kannadised" these words. Ironical and ambiguous lines are used in the song. For instance:
"Jeeva kaLeva amruthake
olavendu hesariDabahude?
praana uLiso khaayilege
preethi endennabahude?"
The words uncomfortably fit the tune. Sonu Nigam has made mistakes in saying mixed words and finally makes this meaningful song incomprehensible at many places. But his "odd" singing at the end of the song is good.
6. Aaha Bedarubombe
Singers: Udit Narayan, Anuradha Shriram
This song is a playful song like a conversation between the boy and the girl. Solo violin is the highlight of this song. We feel that some other singers could have been used instead of Udit and Anuradha. Anuradha's voice is very irritating. We can say this song is comparitively mediocre song in the whole album.
At end, we can say a wonderful combination from Yogaraj, Hrudaya Shiva, Kaikini, and Hari Krishna. Though Yogaraj has penned two songs, he has again proved his extra ordinary lyrical tastes. Hrudaya Shiva also shines in one single song. Kaikini has one masterpiece lyrics for Minchaagi Neenu Baralu.
Hari Krishna has proved his real potential in this album. He has shown that he can compose versatile songs. Minchaagi song comes out as the best song followed by Na Dheem Dheem Ta Na followed by Kavithe and Aakasha Ishte yaakideyo. Somehow Bedaru Bombe song fails to convince apart from the solo violin. A good album.
