Watched MAADESHA at UMA 1PM show today.. We reached the theatre at 12.50PM thinkin that we might have to buy the tickets in black.. But, to our surprise balcony tickets were available and we got 3 seats from the last row.. Even second class tickets were easily avialable and before the movie started, it was 70% filled.. This was a dissapointment for me personally as I would have loved to pay in black and watch this movie for all the hype it had gathered over the past 2-3 months..

Coming to the movie, thought it's been technically well done with some fine performances from the lead artists, it offers nothing new on the content.. It's the same old mundane rowdyism stuff that we have watched in 100s of movies earlier.. It comes nowhere near masterpieces like OM & JOGI..

The saving grace of the movie is it's pacy narration.. Though the first half is a bit dragging and dull except for that exhilerating petrol bunk fight.. But, it's the second half of the movie with the introduction of Ravi KaaLe picks up dramatically and moves on towards an interesting climax..

On the acting front, Shivraj as MAADESHA is as usual at his best.. He simply sleepwalks thorugh this role.. Ravi kaaLe as DCP and Muni as Shivraj's ally are top notch.. But, it's RAVI BELAGERE as a comedian villain who steals the show.. In the second half, he gives a new lease of life into the movie with his unusualy dialogue delivery, hystrionics and mannerisms.. Audience were in splits for most part of second half due to Ravi BeLagere's dialogues..

Dialogues were punchy throughout the movie..

But, somehow, the film lacked the punch right from the beginning scene.. Mother-son sentiment scenes were not engaging.. Heroine and the love episodes were completely unnecessary and so are the songs.. 2-3 songs could have been simply cut ..

Yaao kattiddu yaaro song comes right after Munjaane Maanjaagu song in the first half and there seemed some lack of connectivity in the screenplay in the first half after the petrol bunk episode.. Censor cuts might have affected here somewhat ..

Over all the movie is good if you are an action movie lover.. I had liked Sudeeps' gooli and liked this one too.. I don't know what Ravi Srivathsa was trying to convey with this movie.. It's high time he comes out of his obsession with Underworld subjects.. He has to come out with something fresh like Mungaaru maLe, Duniya, MOggina Manasu etc.
