This meet was special because of the number of members who attended the meet. For me, this was not the first meet. I had met a few members like – Akums, Goobeguru, Agni.cool, Marthish (Deal Dasa), Yogi Uppi, Ajax and others during the movie Eradane Maduve at a Kempegowda road theatre. Somewhere around 2010 or 2011 (not sure)

Coming to the Cubbon Park meet, let me start from my perspective of how we started. Me and Sanjay took a train to Bangalore and reached the city railway station at around 10:30. All along the travel, we sent a few messages to the forum via our phones about our travel. Akums, Goodman, Madhusudhan were also sending their updates. Akums was sms-ing everyone and confirming our arrival. Me and Sanjay started to Cubbon Park in a pre-paid auto that cost us Rs. 56 which was wierd. My over smartness cost us around  20 Rs. Anyway, we reached the venue around 10:45. That was when we got a call from Akums that he was already at the venue. He told “library hindina hullu haasu”

Me and Sanjay headed to the back side of the library and saw Akums and one more person similar to Akums, but with a broader smile. We were still guessing and it was revealed that it was our intellectual informative member sharathbhats! Just in a few minutes, we had one more person who introduced himself as “Bond…. Anna Bond” . He said that he felt a bit odd to introduce himself as Anna Bond. Then we headed towards the toilet room, since it was very urgent for me. As we moved to the other side of the cubbon park, we got a few more members. Hitesh Gowda and 2 other members got down from Swift dzire car. From now, I really cannot remember the order in which the members arrived. Crazy Kiran and Ajit.Shimoga also arrived from another direction. I was really happy to see Crazy Kiran there. Something in my mind told me that, “yes I can recognise a Ravichandran in him!”

In few minutes, we had more members – Madhusudhan, Hot Maga and many more. Just can’t recall each ones name. Then after finishing our toilet job, we came back to the central park area and we had even more members to join us. We made a circle and sat under a leafless tree. Akums had bought a bag full of eatables. He served chips, coke, Haldiram’s Aloo ki Bhujia, chocolates and Good Day Biscuit. Sanjay had got real tasty Milk Burfee which was liked by Madhusudhan_r a lot. We kept on passing the eatables all over the circle.

One of the highlights of the meet was Goodman’s Sudeep talks. He was the most active member just like GG. Hitesh Gowda was sitting just next to Goodman and pulled each other’s leg. For each and everything, he kept on relating to Sudeep. There were discussions about Eeega collecting 150 crores. Also about Bachchan’s opening. There were so many jokes and light moments that I fail to recall and document each one of them here.

Shipz told about a few English movies. Sharathbhats made the conversation meaningful with his informative tid-bids. We kept on pulling each others leg for a while. One of the best jokes was Goodman’s description of CL “ree adu akums-native du paapada koosu” (or something like that). We laughed like hell.

One more highlight of the meet was the GG Awards. GG doesn’t have a formally institutionalised award system. This time’s awards was a spontaneous creation for the sake of giving a recognition to some members whom we felt deserved it. The awards are as follows:

1. Comedy King of the Year – Goodman
2. Intellectual Poster – Sharathbhats
3. Multiplex King and Box Office Shanbhogru – Sandeep Sunstar
4. Most Adorable Member – Hitesh Gowda
5. Accurate Box office Informer – SHIVA

Chandruk was given the award “Member of the year” for his outstanding contribution in media updates. Every forum member would agree about the rich contribution of Chandruk towards the posters and other media updates he does daily. I take a bow at his contributions. A few words about each award winner – Goodman as you all know is comes number one in comedy and he never misses a chance to look for a humorous point in each post. Goodman said that he liked the younger members like Udaya Gowda and Madhusudhan’s comedy posts and that he would expect them winning the same awards next time.

Shiva is one person who tells us the exact figures of amount collected in each theatre of Bangalore. Some members were even discussing how he was able to come up with those exact figures. Only Shiva can tell that. But Goodman was like “Shiva gives exact figures, but makes some 10% errors when it comes to Sudeep movies. Like 10 seats were empty, and front rows were khaali etc” .

Sharathbhats – His posts are mainly informative. Mostly, he writes long posts, and each line carries an information. His knowledge about world cinema is something we all are jealous about. He is so much passionate about movies. And this award was a tribute to his passion.

“Love me or hate me, kill me or kiss me” – this is the song i can dedicate to Hitesh Gowda. He attained the status of adored member last year due to his predictions about star movies and his displeasure towards Yogaraj Bhat’s Paramathma and the PJ jokes. In one line “some of our members love to hate him” . Sandeep Sunstar is one person who gives multiplex updates, has box office info of various stars, has a “one member” sandalwood forum at forumotion.com. His figures have come under attack from various members. His patience in updating those box office records with tables is what gets him a title of “shanbhogru”. Shanbhogaru is a person in the villages who maintains the records of a village, especially the financial records.

Just before the awards, each member was given a personalised greeting to mark GG MEET 2013. Some members like – Paddy123 and Kanasugara arrived late and stayed silent. We all posed for group photographs which was taken by Akums and Ajax. After this, we planned to go to Hotel Kanishka to have our lunch. This is when me and Sanjay decided to cancel our 3pm Mysore train travel and decided to travel by bus later.

Over to Hotel Kanishka
I was eager to speak to Crazy Kiran and hence got into the car of Hitesh Gowda. Hitesh took us all safely, but with a few jumps on the road! Crazy Kiran and Me had good talks about Ravichandran. As we moved, Madhusudhan followed us in his red bike. The remaining members came to Kanishka in their respective cars and two wheelers. We passed through the Kempegowda road and one theatre that was screening Attahasa and Gombegala Love.

We finally reach Kanishka Hotel, asked the the hotel staff to arrange for seats for all 25 odd members. I was recalling that this is the same Kaishka hotel where rowdy Jayaraj / Kothwal was attacked (shown in Aa Dinagalu movie). We ordered an uniform fixed meals. The first thing we got was a green juice. I simply asked goodman what that was. He said “modalu kuDiri aamel helteeni” . The menu comprised of – Kosambari, Dal, Pongal, Puri, White Rice, sambar, Rasam, curds, pickles, buttermilk and ended with a lemon yellow ice cream and a beeDa which i did not taste. All over the lunch, me and Crazy Kiran had one to one talks about Hamsalekha and other interesting things. Akums, Ajax, Madhusudhan and Shipz were all sitting together and were laughing over Prem’s and Yogaraj Bhat IDs in GG. Goodman and Hitesh Gowda were sitting together and i was never listening to their discussion, since i was busy with Kiran.

When the bill arrived, Akums was with his credit card ready to pay and the waiter told “saar card takaLadillaa” and immediately, our Crazy Kiran opened 500 Rs notes from his pocket to pay the bill. His attitude reminded me of none other than Crazy Star. I said “eshte aadru veeraswamy kaDe avru ee kiran”

After finishing our lunch, we came out of the hotel, and made another circle and were ready to speak again. This time Ajax took the initiative and spoke about the future plans of meeting together for movie screenings. Goodman was telling about his long career in the forum world right from 2003 or 2004 October till now. He was proud that he was about to complete a decade. He said candidly “innu retire aagbiDteenri” for which i said “saar take VRS”. He was saying that all his posts of all his IDs of all forums would surely be more than 1.5 Lakhs.

We all were feeling bad to disperse so early. So much less was discussed among the members, so much more was left to be discussed. We all felt that we needed to be together for longer time. We all missed each other so much. Here’s the list of members who attended the meet – Shipz, Govinda (me), Sanjay, Sharathbhats, Hotmaga, Ajax, Chandruk, Akums, Crazykiran, Hitesh gowda, Ajith Shimoga, Madhusudhan_r, Naanu Naane, Anna Bond, Paddy123, Goodman, Kanasugaara. (names in the order of a photograph taken by akums) Did i miss anyone?

My few thoughts
GG meet was really nice. Felt nice meeting all the members. This was the first time i met so many members together. Missed the presence of Goobeguru and Shiva. Even missed people like Bharadwaj, Power, Vamshi, Prasannakumarbg. I thought that next time, we should have a longer meet in the form of a road trip and stay at a resort in some nature place, so that we get longer time for discussions. One thing i felt we could not make was the formal introduction of each member with the whole group. Anyway, we shall plan things better during next meet. Thanks to all members who came for the meet and made it memorable. I hope we can have more members joining in during the next time.

Mungaaru Male is a film nearer to reality packed with real life emotions, comedy and seriousness. Coming to the plot, Preetham (Ganesh) is the lead character of the film. He is a flamboyant boy. He instantly falls in love (as well as manhole!) with Nandini (Sanjana Gandhi) amidst the rain. When it rains, it makes way for sprouting of seeds. Similarly, love sprouts in the heart of Preetham in between the rain and grows in the house of Nandini situated in Madikeri. Preetham comes to know that Nandini is the daughter of his mother’s friend later. Preetham comes to know that Nandini is already engaged to a Doctor who saved her father’s life.

The film moves smoothly through first half with good comedy mixed with the story. As the film heads towards the climax, it takes the form of seriousness. The scene where the mother of Nandini thinks that Preetham is joking, while Preetham says the truth is very nice. The helplessness of Preetham touches our heart. Subsequent scene where Preetham sleeps on his mother’s feet is a very emotional one. The film ends with a unexpected climax. The death of the Rabbit, which would be there with him all through out his love episode, symbolizes the death of his love. The director gives a message that “love is pleasant… But sacrifice is eternal’.

The film attracts the audience very closely to it. The story is of a kind which may happen in anyone’s life. The director has showcased Coorg culture in a beautiful way. The edge of the Jog falls shown from high angle shot and bird’s eye shot makes for the most memorable scene of the film. It sends chills down the spines! The Jog Falls have been shown in a way never shown before.

Thanks to Krishna’s breathtaking camera work, every scene looks marvelous. The locales of Madikeri and Sakaleshapura have been caught very well. Director Yogaraj Bhat succeeds in telling a love story in a easy going way. The screenplay is tight. The way the story unfolds by way of mild comedy is good. Narration is fresh. The dialogues have a punching power in some situations.

Music by Mano Murthy is mellifluous. Specially the songs “kunidu kunidu bare”, “onde ondu saari”, “anisutide yaako indu.” The song “kunidu kunidu bare” reminds us of another song “hariva nadiyu neenu” composed by same Mano Murthy for an album. Jayanth Kaykini has provided poetic lyrics. Kaviraj has given good lyrics for one song. Yogaraj Bhat has penned the title song which goes deep into the things related with rain and its similarity to love. “bhuvi kenne tumba mugilu surida muttina gurutu, nanna edeya tumba avalu banda hejje gurutu” — Lines like this are found in all the songs.

For Ganesh, this film is a turning point. From comedy to seriousness. He has performed beyond expectations (expressions, dance). Sanjana Gandhi is equally good as a silent, sensitive girl. Ananth Nag, Padmaja Rao and Sudha Belawadi become the pillars for the film. The director has to be commended for taking a risk by casting newcomers, risky climax. Seems like the director has done lot of planning for everything which is missing in many directors. A telugu film had rain in its background, but there was no link to it with the story so much. But here, the director shows intimate relation of the rain to most of the aspects of the film. The director has utilised the eternal nature in many ways. The usage of Rabbit (Devdas) for communication is quite interesting.

This film happens to be the last film released in this year. This year experienced some worst films and controversies. Watching this film will make us forget all the bitter experiences of the whole year.

Maintain Maadthavnooo – Tippu and Akanksha Badami – A song depicting the talent of the hero in maintaining his girlfriends… A completely different kind of foot tapping number…Tippu’s voice is tailor made for this song and Akanksha Badami has done a descent job… The tune is catchy while the lyrics supports the flow of the song…. Liked it a lot….

Bhoond Bhoond mein – Prateek - Arjun leaves no stone unturned when it comes to BGM… The music bit that comes in the beginning of the song is too good… This might be the hero introduction song in the movie which talks abt his character and attitude towards life… Prateek’s voice sounds fresh and perfectly suits the mood of the song… The song has the punch in it and leaves an impression on you…. Lyrics could have been better…. The music quality and beats in the song is very good…..

Lesa Ilesa – Arjun - Pakka Tappangucchi song… The best part of the song is the lyrics… its funny, its truth, it’s a mirror to the current Film Industry situation….  Lines like “Remake oo swamake oo olle cinema maadro saaaku” “Mundhe nagu hinde ugi Hittu aadon kaalu mugi, Creative maadidre beda  magi, Hittu pattern saaku thegi” are sure to be applauded by audience….

Coming to the song the tune is catchy in the beginning but loses track later, what still keeps the song alive is the lyrics, one can appreciate this song if they can follow the lyrics….. music could have been better.. this might be a situational song and surely will be enjoyed when it comes on screen…

Nee Irabekittilli – Vijay Prakash and Anuradha Bhat - Something was missing in the album, yes a melody track.. if u were looking for one, here it is… A slow melody track, a feel good song…The selection of singers has been brilliant throughout the album…. Vijay Prakash has a unique voice that redefines  melody and makes it enjoyablee…. Anuradha’s voice is just too good, apt for the song….. The music has a soothing effect with a lively feel in it and the lyrics has not let that down…. One of best melody song in recent times…. My Pick of the album….

Overall a good album by Arjun… The songs have a different feel in them, they sound fresh, thanks to Aravind for bringing out such music from Arjun… Aravind has a good music sense which was already proved in NAOD….. The first step before the movie release ie Audio seems to be successful… The music will surely be appreciated by music lovers….. All the best for the Team…..

Vajra Ballalaraaya: Kailash Kher – This is a song depicting the glory and the story of the ancestors…  Expecting this to come in flash back… Song starts of with a music as that of a war background followed by a chorus.. The music has come out verry well and immediately gives the feel of the age it is pointing to….

Kailash Kher is the ideal choice for this song and it could have not been better than this… The song carries a strong feel and a sort of energy that makes u get involved in it. The lyrics supports the song completely and doesn let it down…. All credit to Both HK and Kailash… The usage of chorus in between is very good..Expecting this song to come in a yellowish backgrond which would make the song 100% complete and a treat to watch in theatre….

Song starts of with this Kavana from Darshan himself… He has an engrossing voice which makes u listen to him a hundred times without getting bored… The usage of his voice is appreciable, a intelligent music by hari…..

This is A soft melody song sung by Vani.Her voice suits in some parts especially when she says “haago Heego idde naanu nanna kaado haayagiii” the voice modulation is just too good…. But she has not been able to maintain the same thing at high pitches thats when u feel Shreya Ghoshal would have been the apt choice…. Nevertheless this is a sort of song that makes u feel good.. The song that you would like to hear whenever u feel down,it has that soothing effect in it…

Kittappa Kittappa: Shankar Mahadevan – Starts off with the age old song “Raadha Maadhave Vinodha bhaava” but immediately switches to 2011 tappangucchi song…. The next minute it makes u feel as if this is just a rehash of hundread’s of Mass songs that comes in most of the movies with nothing fresh to offer…. Thats when u go wrong coz its just the beginning… The song completely takes a different shape after a couple of minutes…. The english depiction of Krishna and Gopika’s story is just awesomeee… Hatsoff to the creativity they have brought in the lyrics… This bit lifts the song and makes it enjoyable to the core… With such rib ticking lyrics and Tappangucchi music all eye’s on Harsha as he is the choreographerfor this song..

Athiratha Maharatha Saarathee:  Shankar Mahadevan – After a Melody, serious and a tappangucchi the album isn’t over yet… Its Darshan’s movie and a high voltage entry song is a must and this is the one if u are looking for… Shankar Mahadevan brings in all the energy in the world to this song… A typical voice that doesn have any match…. Hari Krishna proves why he is called the master of BGM…. The music bit along with the chorus in the beginning of the song is superb and i guess thats when D would enter on the screen in the movie, it would surely bring down the the roof with crowd going crazy over the music….. The song is purely based on the Auto drivers and their work… Nagendraprasad has done a very good job in lyrics by bringing in the actual things which we see on a day to day life while interacting with the auto guys (but in ideal scenario ) which makes us like the song…

Manase Manase: Shamitha, Vijay Sarathy - Hari Krishna has this brilliant talent of starting the song with a very good music bit that would make u interested in the song…..  Shamitha who is well known for her item number songs proves herself in Melody this time… Nagendraprasad has done a brilliant job in all the songs in this album with meaningful lyrics… This one is a duet song sung by Shamitha and Vijay Prakash…. Shamitha has done a wonderful job in the song, a very plesant voice sometime u just feel the chorus that comes in is hindering the flow of the melody in the song.. But the usage of chorus is good but its the voice of Shamitha that makes the song more beautiful.. Vijay Sarathy has done a good job but still feel Sonu would have been the ideal choice….The melody in this album is fresh and not the regular stereotype Sonu JK melody that Hari has been bringing in all albums…..

Overall a Very good album from Hari Krishna…. The music quality is topclass, choice of singers has been very good in the song with all doing justice…. Nagendra Prasad, who always has the habit of bringing in unncessary english wordings or filling the song with some very ordinary lyrics which doesn make sense has breaked the shackles and has brought in variety in his lyrics that suits the song…. Kittappa song is certainly innovative in its lyrics….His combination with D and Hari has brought the best of him this time… The album Stands up to the expectation the fans had and makes it complete worth for each pie they paid for the album…. The Stage is all set…. Waiting for the movie to hit the screen……

Sarathi Audio Release Plan

The wait for Darshan’s fans is over and the countdown has started now. The audio of Darshan’s much awaited film Sarathy which is directed by his brother Dinakar is all set to be released on June 19 publicly in front of Kannada film fans. A different type of audio release has been planned now for this film.

The shooting of Sarathy a big budget film has been completed. The film which has been shot in different locations is produced by Sathya Prakash and KCN Chandrashekhar jointly. Well known model Deepa Sannidhi is the heroine of this film. This is her debut film and she has already been booked for Puneet Raj Kumar starrer Paramathma which is directed by Yogaraj Bhat. AV Krishna Kumar is the cameraman of this film. Hari Krishna is the music director of this film.

Speaking to Chitraloka Mega Portal, the film’s director Dinakar says that the audio release of his third directorial project has been planned in a different manner. The audio is being released in Benglauru’s Malleshwaram grounds where the leaders of the city’s six prominent Auto driver’s associations will be releasing the audio. Incidentally Darshan is playing the role of an auto driver for the first time in this film.

It may also be recalled that Darshan enjoys the big support among the auto drivers who are essentially Kannada film fans.

Darshan will be travelling in an Auto from his residence to the Malleshwaram grounds to be part of this funciton. Incidentally efforts are now being to get a special licence for the star just to drive an auto for a Day. An auto procession is being planned on that day when lot of Auto Rickshaw drivers who are Darshan’s fans will be following Darshan when he will be driving the auto.

Later after the audio release function, Darshan will go to six or eight busy auto stands in the city to release the audio and also hand over free audio cassettes to some lucky auto rickshaw drivers.

Darshan will also visit Mysore, Hubli, Mandya and Davanagere after a few days to release the audio separately in a few auto stands in the respective cities.

Dinakar said that a big publicity drive is planned after the release of the audio with press conferences, channel interviews and launch of websites and face book pages for the film.

“We have not yet started the publicity for the film till now. But we are sure to escalate the publicity efforts after the release of the audio when we will be fully geared up to reach out people with the information of the film. We are using different platforms to publicise the film. I am also seeking the support of Darshan’s fans in this regard’ says Dinakar.

The film will be releasing by July end or first week of August. The film will be the costliest venture for Darshan.
The film has been shot in Pollachi, Chalakudi, Mysore, Bengaluru and many places in Karnataka. Two shots have been shot in abroad.

Minchi Maayavaaguve – Chetan Sosca V S Manasa – Tooo goood Im in love with the album.. not the regular prototype melody song with sonu singing… this is where Manomurthy scores over harikirshna when it comes to melody…. mano can bring in soo much variety in his melodies with different singers…..

Naane Hero – Chetan Sosca Hemanth – a medium paced peppy song…. ABove average song….

Ninanne Nodutha – Sonu Nigam Shreya Ghoshal – Over to SOnu again…. He doesn dissapoint…. Most melodious pair does it everytime…. Difficult to choose the pick of the album with some very good melodies…. As usual the best one is give to this pair… SO this is My pick of the album…..

Naana naana – Nanditha – Y shreya when Nanditha can sing soo welll….. Our music directors shld find out strong points of our singers and avoid bringing in singers for all songs… A goood melody song….
Manomurthy is Backkkkkkkk…… Back with some verrryyy good melodiesss…. With all melodies except one this is undoubtedly one of the best melody albums of the year…. 4/5

Ayyayyo Ammammooo – Rita – A slow paced female melody track…. Rita’s voice gives a soothing effect…. Lyrics could have been better….  Good one…..

Yaarivali Hudugi – vijaya Raghavendra- A very good melody track… Rajesh krishnan or Sonu would have been the ideal choice… I have two versions of this song one with VR singing and the other with a different singer…. one of them is goood in terms of singers voice….  Second best of the album…. 

Vakrathunda Mahakaaya – Shankar Mahadevan Priya Himesh Madhu Balakrishna – A fast paced song… SHankar mahadevan voice gives force to the song… Good one… But the chorus during the end of the song is childish….

Ganeshange Garike – Vijaya Raghavendra, Naveen krishna, Shashank Shehadri – A tappangucchhi track… felt crap in the first hearing but was okay after repeated hearings… anyway an average track…. SUmne yella hero serkondu ond haadidare….

Harikrishna has done a descent job….. A goood album with all songs worth listening to except Ganeshange Garike song…… 3.5/5

Haaalu Hrudhayake – slow sad track… needs a couple of listening to like this one…. A nice song….

Jinke o Jinke – Peppy song….. Above average one….

Nan hendru – Lyrics sucks and the song tooo….

Prema Prema – WOuld have been a superb song if Annavru had sung this…. :supz: :prayer: :prayer: Typical annavru’s track which needed lot of energy and tempo….. Feels as if the singer is trying to imitate Annavru when he say Premaaa Premaaaa… Not a great singing…. Average song….

Sneha Sneha – Song on friendship… lyrics not upto the mark neither the song…..

Totally an average to below average album…. Nowhere near Chanda which was music directed by Naaani…. None of the songs feels good in first listening nor after repeated hearings….

Midiva ninna – a very good melody song….. Copywrited sonu type track

Tightu Tightu – A different attempt…. Rap in b/w tappangucchhi is good…Worth listening.. not impressive…..

Thottilu - A sad song…. above Average one

Namma Appa Amma – Starts with Bhaagyada lakshmi baaramma tune Fast paced techno song… good one…

Overall the album is just OKAY…. none of the songs are very impressive except Midiva Ninna…..Arjun dissapoints…..
