Watched Nam Yajamanru yesterday eveniing 4.20 Show @PVR. The auditorium was 90-95% full.
Story:
Shashank (Vishnuvardhan), the Managing Director of JanumadaJodi.com is married to Urmila (Laxmi Gopalaswamy). Since they dont have a kid, they treat Charulatha (Navya Nayar) as their daughter. Navya feels very comfortable being with Vishnu and Laxmi than her own parents. In an accident, Shashank looses his wife Urmila… Charu, after that accident, undergoes a severe mental trauma… She forgets her past and starts behaving like Urmila! She thinks she is the wife of Shashank! Similar to Apthamitra where Soundarya becomes Nagavalli… Charu becomes Urmila !!!
What next?? See on the big screen…………
+ve points:
–> Story is something new / different from normal. Though it has shades of Apthamitra, nowhere Aptamitra sequences are copied. That is great!
–> Navya Nayar — Surprise package! Exceptionally good in her acting. Never expected such a great talent in her. Her expressions, attitude on the screen, dialog delivery, everything is brilliant! She will definitely get an award for this movie.
–> Vishnu sir, as usual great performance. His expression in the climax scene, when Navya Nayar tries to stop him from doing yearly rituals (shraadhdha) of his dead wife is simply amazing.
–> background music by Hamsalekha is good and effective at places!
–> Anantnag is superb in his small role
–> Screenplay is tight.
–> Camera work is good. Munnar is covered very nicely!!
-Ve points:
–> Dragging dragging dragging… The story could have been told in 1 to 1 and half hours max. But to make it 2 hours 15 mins, it is simply dragged and bores you at places.
–> Songs by Hams are just average.None of the songs haunt you. I feel songs are added just to lengthen the duration. Atleast 2 songs could have been dropped and couple of scene could have been cut.
–> I am not an expert to comment on possibility of the mental disorder shown in the movie… But just curious to know, is it really possible to erase a part of the memory from from a person 's brain using computers just like we format / erase a floppy drive or pen drive?? :hmm: :hmm: :hmm: That part was bit difficult to digest for me. If it is really possible in real life, then big round of applauds to out technology and scientists.. :
Overall — Once watchable for amazing performance by Dada and Navya Nayar and for a different attempt by Nagabharana!!
