C. Ashwath is no more

GandhadaGudi.com records it with deep regret – the passing away of Light Music (Bhavageethe) icon Shri C. Aswath today in Columbia Asia hospital today.

He had composed music and sung for the various poems of Kannada Poets. He was more famous for his music for the movies – Mysooru Mallige and Santa Shishunaala Shareefa. He paired up with L. Vaidyanathan and gave some memorable songs under the name Ashwath-Vaidi.

He renewed the interest of music lovers in light music by organising KANNADAVE SATHYA in Bangalore Palace Grounds and other parts of Karnataka State. This programme showed the strength of Kannadigas crowd in Bangalore.
