This week, Avva directed by Kavitha Lankesh and Hani Hani directed by Sharan are releasing. Avva features Duniya Vijay and Smitha and Shruthi in the lead. Though the film is beeing promoted using the romantic scenes and kisses betweenn Smitha and Vijay, the film's main character is Shruthi's who plays the role of Avva.
Avva is based on a collection of stories by P. Lankesh Mussanjeya Maathu. The story has already been adopted on stage by some drama groups. The story is about a girl belonging to higher caste loving a lower caste boy. The film is weaved along the societal conditions in a rural area, the money lending business of a lady, how she manages her family and how a love story also starts in between.
Another film releasing this week Hani Hani directed by Sharan has Pooja Gandhi and Tarun in the lead. The songs of the movie have not been much impressive. Shran earlier directed the film Poojari and the film was out of the theatres in two weeks. Lets see how this film runs.
Meanwhile, Gaja is going stable in darshan belt areas like Mysore, Bangalore, Mandya and other places also. The film seems to have caught the attention of some family audiences too. Action and masala packed this film has sustained and has given a good opening to Darshan in 2008. Ee Bandhana, is also going quite well and seems to have recovered the money almost. Honganasu is already out of the main theatre and Hani Hani has replaced it. Gaalipata though not a phenomemon like Mungaru Male is going well all over. Beladingalaagi Baa is going normal at Kapali.
